The Signature Morning, start to finish
Simple, and looked after at every step.
About 60 minutes in the water, and a few simple steps around it, each one done properly.
Reserve
Choose a date and one of the three morning departures. We confirm on WhatsApp and send the meeting point and what to bring.
Arrive
Your guide meets you on the beach in Mirissa. Clean equipment is already set out for your party.
Get comfortable
Your mask and fins are fitted properly. Then a short briefing on breathing, signals and the plan for the water. Take the time you need.
Enter the reef
You walk in from the shore together. About 60 minutes on the reef at your own pace, with your guide close by.
Come back
Back on the sand, a glass of fresh fruit juice while the morning is still cool.
Keep the morning
Your guide films and photographs the session on an action camera. We send the photos and videos to you afterwards.
First time snorkeling
You don’t need to know how to snorkel.
Many guests have never worn a mask before, and swimming experience is not required. Feeling comfortable is what matters, and helping you get there is your guide’s job.

What to bring
Swimwear, a towel and sunscreen, reef-safe if you have it. We provide the mask, snorkel, fins, life jacket and safety equipment.
Where we meet
Thalaramba Beach in Mirissa, on Sri Lanka’s south coast. We send the exact meeting point on WhatsApp when we confirm. There is no boat: every session starts from the shore.

Our season runs from October to March. Every session depends on the sea on the day: we check conditions before going in and only take guests into the water when they are suitable.
Turtles and the reef
Wild encounters. Never staged.
Turtles are often seen on this reef, and for many guests they are the reason to come. But the ocean is wild, and we believe it should stay that way. Every morning is different, and no sighting can be guaranteed.
- We never touch turtles or any other marine life.
- We never feed fish or turtles.
- We never chase an animal or block its way.
- We give turtles space and never crowd around them.
If a turtle comes close, it is because it chose to.
The shared option
Reef Session
A shared session later in the day for guests who prefer a more flexible start. The same reef, the same equipment and safety gear, with no more than four guests per guide.

Do I need to know how to swim?
No. You wear a life jacket, your guide fits your equipment and explains everything on the beach, then stays with you in the water. We only go in when sea conditions are suitable.
How long is the session?
About 60 minutes in the water. Allow a little time before for fitting and the briefing and, on a Signature Morning, a few minutes afterwards for fresh fruit juice.
Will we see turtles?
Turtles are often seen on this reef, but they are wild animals and every morning is different. We cannot promise a sighting, and we never chase, touch or feed them to make one happen.
What is the difference between the Signature Morning and the Reef Session?
The Signature Morning is private to your party, departs at 7:00, 8:30 or 10:00 AM with a maximum of three guests per guide, and includes action-camera photos and videos and fresh fruit juice. The Reef Session is a shared group after 11:00 AM with up to four guests per guide, without photos or juice. Both are about 60 minutes in the water with the same equipment and safety gear.
