About

A small team, and a reef we know well.

Our guides were born and raised in Mirissa. We keep the operation deliberately small, so every guest gets the same careful attention, whether it is their first time in a mask or their fiftieth.

How we work

Three things we hold to.

  1. Small on purpose

Three Signature departures each morning and a firm limit on guests per guide. Fewer people in the water means a calmer session, and a guide who can pay attention to you.

  2. Honest about the ocean

Turtles are common here, not guaranteed, and conditions change. We tell you what to expect, and if the sea is not right, we do not go in.

  3. Careful with wildlife

We do not touch, feed or chase turtles or any other marine life. They were here first, and we want them to stay.

The guides

People who grew up by this water.

Our guides know where turtles tend to feed, how the water changes through the season, and how to help a nervous first-timer relax.

On a Signature Morning your guide looks after no more than three guests, so there is time to do that properly. They also take your photos and videos, which means they stay close to the moment instead of watching it from a distance.

The place

From the shore at Mirissa.

Mirissa sits on Sri Lanka’s south coast. Our sessions start on Thalaramba Beach, where you walk into the water with your guide. There is no boat and no transfer, just the beach, the reef and the morning.

Our season runs from October to March. We check the sea before every session and only go in when conditions are right.
